Business.govt.nz launches ONECheck three-in-one business name search tool

Business.govt.nz’s ONECheck is an online search tool that combines a company name, domain and trade mark search all in one place.

Created for people who are looking at starting a new business, renaming their current business or just wanting to check their existing business name is secure; ONECheck packages all the relevant information in one place, so you don’t have to work from three different websites.

A businesses name is a vital asset, and something that needs to be protected in a number of different places.

Simply enter a business name and hit the Search button. ONECheck will immediately advise the availability of that name as a company name, domain name and trade mark. If the name is available Business.govt.nz will provide the information required to go on and secure that name.

• A direct link to the Companies Office allows you to go on and reserve your company name on the Companies Register.
• You can also go through to a domain name registrar approved by the Domain Name Commission.
• A connection with the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand directs you to where you can carry out a search and preliminary advice check to establish that a trade mark for your business name is available.
