New practice guidelines for patents


A new online facility for filing patent applications will be introduced in early November 2008. The following practice guidelines have been updated to reflect the enhancements that the new facility will provide:

  • Use of the online application form
  • Requirements for online filing of patent specifications
  • Authorisation of agent
  • Convention applications: verified convention documents and verified translation certificates
  • Declarations of Inventorship
  • General signatory requirements for online filing of patents
