Request Extension of time to oppose
Opposition is an objection to the grant of a patent in the form it was advertised. The usual three month period for filing a notice of opposition may be extended by one month only.
Lodge Notice of Opposition to Patent Application
Opposition is an objection to the grant of a patent in the form it was advertised. Any person who wishes to oppose the grant of the patent can do so within three months from the date of its advertisement in the Journal. A notice of opposition must comply with the requirements of the Act and Regulations.
Lodge Revocation of Patent
An interested person may apply for the revocation of a granted patent in certain circumstances. An application for revocation must comply with the requirements of the Act and Regulations.
Request Opposition to Restoration of Lapsed Patent
Any person may oppose the restoration of a lapsed patent within 2 months after the restoration has been advertised in the Journal.
Request Opposition to Specification Amendment
Any person may oppose the amendment of an accepted complete specification within 1 month after the amendment has been advertised in the Journal.
Request Opposition to Patent Surrender
Any interested person may oppose the surrender of a patent within 1 month after the surrender has been advertised in the Journal.
Request Resolution of Dispute as to Inventorship
An employee or employer may apply to the Commissioner to resolve a dispute as to the rights of the parties in respect of an invention.
Request Opposition to Entry of License of Right
Allows the entry of a “License of Right” to be opposed.
