14. Changes of ownership and financial interest

Changes of Ownership

Where a Patent or the rights to an Invention change hands the change in ownership must be recorded on the register services at the earliest possible opportunity. Requests to change the ownership of a Patent or Patent application can be done via the online services. Requests for change of ownership require evidence, such as a Sales and Purchase agreement, to be submitted online showing the transfer of ownership.

Registration of Financial Interests and Licensees

Licences and financial interests must be recorded for granted patents using the online system. Requests to record a financial interest or licence require evidence (proof of title) to be submitted online showing the financial interest or licence.
