How to check for existing plant variety rights
It pays to check if your plant variety is original before you apply for a variety right or before you market your variety:
- There is no point in applying for plant variety right registration if it is not original or may be seen as similar to a registered plant variety right;
- The owner of a registered plant variety right can take legal action against anyone trying to market an identical variety.
