New Zealand plant variety rights journal
The IPONZ/PVR Office publishes each quarter the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights Journal. The Journal contains details of applications for and grants of Plant Variety Rights, notice of legislative changes and information about plant variety protection in other countries. It is produced for several reasons:
- General information.
- Publication of details of applications and grants constitutes public notification which is required under the Act in order to inform persons who may wish to lodge formal objections (see section 26).
To satisfy the requirements of UPOV. Exchange of journals between UPOV member States assists in particular in avoiding the duplication of approved variety denominations.
