Signatory requirements for design documents filed electronically

Signatory requirements for applications or general communications are considered met if a form or document is:

• filed through the IPONZ online design application service, or,
• filed as an electronic reproduction of the document containing the signature.

Evidence, statutory declarations, assignment documents, and agent authorisations, should be filed as electronic reproductions of the signed paper document. There is no requirement to file the original document, so long as the original is retained, and can be produced to the Commissioner if requested.
