Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand declared closed on Tuesday 15 November 2016

Pursuant to section 224 of the Patents Act 2013, section 189 of the Trade Marks Act 2002 and section 45A of the Designs Act 1953, the Commissioner hereby declares the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand closed for transaction of business on Tuesday 15 November 2016.

Reason for closure of the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand

Due to the pending completion of building assessments in Wellington following a major earthquake on Monday 14 November, the Commissioner is satisfied that under these circumstances it is necessary and desirable to close IPONZ at short notice.

If the deadline for filing an application or document falls on a day when the Office is closed, then the application or document can be filed on the next day when IPONZ is open, and will be deemed to have been filed on time.
