Update to guidance on replacements of national trade marks

We have updated our guidance on replacements of national trade marks with international registrations.

The Trade Marks (International Registration) Regulations 2012 were amended on 27 March 2025 to allow for partial replacements of national trade marks. These amendments allow trade mark owners to replace a national trade mark with an international registration for only some of its goods and services.

We have now updated our website with guidance on requests to take note of the replacement of a national trade mark with an international registration. The new content clarifies the requirements and process for requesting either a partial or a full replacement.
