IPONZ has recently updated its practice guidelines relating to the term annexure general “retail, wholesale and distribution services”.

IPONZ has recently updated its trade mark practice guidelines to reflect the following:

Updated Annexure General guideline on “retail, wholesale and distribution services”

IPONZ’s practice guidelines in the Annexure General now offers examples of how the broad terms “retail services”, “wholesale services” and “distribution services” (and the like) could be amended. This guideline now also provides examples of amendments to these broad terms which are not considered acceptable by the Office.

Update to common examples of registered marks that appear in trade mark specifications

Section 3.4 of IPONZ’s practice guidelines on Classification and Specification advises that registered trade marks should not appear in goods and services specifications, and cites a list of common examples. This list has been updated recently to reflect additional registered trade marks and remove expired marks.
