Have your say: Consultation on outstanding issues in Plant Variety Rights Act review

Consultation is open until 21 September 2020 on a discussion paper covering outstanding issues in the Plant Variety Rights Act review.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has recently released a discussion document exploring a small number of outstanding issues in the current Plant Variety Rights (PVR) Act review. MBIE is now seeking views on both these issues and the corresponding analysis of the proposed options.

The outstanding issues relate to the following further items in the regime that need to be addressed:

  • Provisions on the implementation of obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi, and:
  • Administrative/operational processes of the PVR Office that relate to applications and growing trials.

The consultation period on this discussion document will close at 5.00pm on Monday, 21 September 2020. The discussion document and information about how to make a submission are available on the MBIE website.
